MUST HAVE colostomy belt!

I think this is the most important ostomy investment I've made so far. It's very common for ostomates to get a hernia after their colostomy. You could develop a hernia within a few weeks or even months after surgery, or you could develop one years later. After colostomy surgery, a hernia will forever be a possibility, and that's a frightening reality... So I wanted the best product I could possibly find to mitigate that possibility. This particular ostomy belt needs to be customized, (cut to fit by you), to your particular ostomy pouch flanges, but it wasn't difficult following the instructions on how to do that. The material is very soft, very comfortable, and it's comfy even in warmer weather. As for the fit, as long as you precisely measure your waist, especially along the stoma line or the largest area of your "Buddha" belly, you shouldn't have any problems. The belt has soft boning in the back for added fit, that also controls the fabric from slipping, and or "riding up" on the waist. I'm 5'6, and weigh 105 lb, so the small was perfect for me. The quality of this belt is unmatched and while many people think it's expensive, It's actually worth it. A lot of thought went into the ease of use of this product, as well as superb! Craftsmanship. In essence, at the end of the day, this is a medical grade product, and the company put a lot of thought into its construction, so yes, it's going to cost more.

It's a nice belt overall - it fits on snugly and, following the sizing chart, it is the right size for my waist. I like that the opening can be cut to the appropriate size for my stoma. The material is soft and provides good support. I've worn it all day and felt comfortable doing so. The lumbar support stays offer minimal support, but aren't too burdensome like bulky back braces. It's easy to put on and remove. It's a great accessory for ostomy support

TIP: the instructions say to put this on while laying down. I put it on both while laying down and sitting up. I can definitely get it tighter when put on while laying down, so that is the method I'm recommending.

Overall, I do recommend this belt. It does a good job giving support all the way around your mid section. I can see how it gives added support to your bag as well.

Fits well, feels nice

This Ostomy belt fits well according to the sizing chart. I generally wear a large and the large is the correct size for me in this belt. It is a lightweight material that has obvious stretch to it, which is nice so that it stays comfortable during the day. I can bend and move freely while wearing the belt. The back does have some vertical "boning" to provide support however it is really minimal and not like the support from a back brace, but just enough that you can tell you are wearing it. I do like that the coloring is flesh so that it's not that noticeable, with this nude/flesh coloring and the type of material I can easily wear this under my clothing without being too noticeable and it lays pretty flat. One thing that is a huge bonus is that the circle can be cut to fit the size of your stoma to get the perfect fit. This is a unique feature that I really appreciate and is helpful. You wrap this around you and then secure when it's comfortable with the velcro tabs that stay securely in place until you are ready to remove them. The pocket pouch also holds well and stays put. Instructions for use are included. This belt does feel quality and like it will hold up for some time. Overall I would say that this is well made and I am happy with it for moving around and doing daily task.
